MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Oct. 29, 2025) – As part of Milligan University’s fall Lecture Series, Dr. Whitney Hanor, assistant professor of physician assistant studies, will present a lecture titled “The Secret Sauce for Both Students and Professionals to Avoid and Cure Burnout”

This lecture will be held in Hyder Auditorium in the university’s Science Building on Monday, Nov. 3, at 6:00 p.m.

Hanor’s lecture will explore the challenges of burnout and present both a biblical and clinically grounded approach to exploring the root causes of professional burnout. With practical tools like self-assessment quizzes, real-life applications and research-backed findings, Hanor’s lecture will provide valuable insights into preventing and overcoming burnout.

The topic of Hanor’s lecture is important to her profession as a physician assistant educator as burnout remains a significant and ongoing challenge for both healthcare learners and professionals.

“Every single person has experienced or will experience risk of professional and personal burnout,” said Hanor. “Students would benefit from prevention and early identification strategies – burnout affects more than just the individual. It affects communities, families and cultures of organizations.”

Hanor serves as Core Instructional Faculty for the Physician Assistant Studies Program at Milligan and she specializes in Urgent Care and Outpatient medicine, teaching topics including Gastrointestinal, Pediatrics, HIV and Global Health.

Passionate about international and rural medicine, Hanor has led medical mission trips to countries across Africa and Latin America. As a committed Christian, she values the opportunity to guide students both professionally and spiritually.

The Faculty Lecture Series provides students and other members of the Milligan community a glimpse into the active world of academic research and writing at Milligan. The lecture is free and open to the public.
