MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Aug. 15, 2025) — This morning, Milligan University faculty and staff enjoyed the sunshine and a change of pace during the university’s annual Campus Work Day. Every year before students return, Milligan’s faculty and staff assist the physical plant staff with some final enhancements to campus.
This tradition begins with a continental breakfast before employees break into smaller groups to assist with landscaping, painting and cleaning. The day culminates with an employee lunch at noon.
“We are grateful to have the opportunity to gather our faculty and staff back together after the summer,” said Milligan President Dr. Stephen Waers. “We join together in service of our students, who will be arriving very soon. Our campus work day is an act of welcome and an embodied form of prayer for our students. We’re excited to kick off the new academic year.”
This year’s workday also highlighted several renovation and improvement projects completed this summer, including updates to Sutton Hall, the Fireside Grill in the McMahan Student Center, the Little Hartland Welcome Center and the lower level of Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
Move-In Day for new students will occur on Saturday, Aug. 23, with classes beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
