After watching the United States place third in the qualifying round as an alternate, Jastrab was called into action in the United States’ First Round and Medal Round matchups with Great Britain and Canada.

In the First Round, the US team of Jennifer Valente, Emma White, Chloé Dygert and Jastrab set an American National Record of 4:07.562, but Great Britain advanced to the gold medal round with a world-record time of 4:06.748.

In the finals, the US squared off against Canada for the Bronze medal. Jastrab and company led at every split of the race and earned a spot on the podium with USA Cycling’s second medal of the 2020 Olympic games. At 19 years old, Jastrab was the youngest member of the United States’ quartet that received a bronze medal.

Jastrab is the first Olympic medalist in Milligan University history. She also made history as the first current undergraduate student to appear in the Olympic Games and the first to compete for Team USA.

Megan looks to add another Olympic medal at 4:15 a.m. Friday morning in the first-ever Olympic running of the Women’s Madison alongside Valente.
