Betsy Magness

Assistant Professor of Worship Leadership

Faculty Office Center, 121

Betsy Magness is an Assistant Professor of Worship Leadership at Milligan University. She teaches ministry courses on worship leadership, including the Chapel Practicum class, where students learn to plan and lead chapel services at Milligan. As a member of Milligan’s Bible faculty, she also teaches God’s Story in the Old Testament and God’s Story in the New Testament.

With over 20 years of experience in pastoral ministry in the area of worship, Magness has served in various roles. Her core passion lies in worship service design and planning, where she works with teams of musicians, speakers, and production teams to create creative and cohesive worship services that honor God. She has led the planning of thousands of worship services for churches of various sizes, ranging from 500 to 5,000 members, as well as for retreats, special events, and conferences such as the North American Christian Convention.
Magness’ personal faith journey was deeply influenced by her time at Milligan, where she read the Bible for the first time as a freshman in Old Testament and New Testament survey classes. This life-changing encounter with God continues to inspire her work at Milligan, where she feels privileged to be part of the faculty and contribute to the legacy of transformational education that leads people to know and love God.

Magness loves her students and their enthusiasm to use their interests and education to serve God. She is also grateful for the opportunity to teach alongside a faculty that views their work in the classroom as a ministry.
