Ashley Held
Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy
Dr. Ashley Held is an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy at Milligan University. Her research interests focus on the effective use of telehealth in underserved populations and strengthening community-based occupational therapy. Her areas of expertise include school-based OT, community-based OT, outpatient pediatrics, home care, and telehealth.
Dr. Held has established a partnership with a pediatric clinic in Kyiv, Ukraine, to support children with Sensory Integration Disorder and Autism. Her work was featured in Autism Spectrum News in the article, “Reaching Ukraine: Occupational Therapy-Centered Training to Support Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Kyiv.”
Her faith journey led her through a “window” of opportunity opened by the Holy Spirit, coupled with an enthusiasm for teaching, mentoring, and motivating in a Christ-like way. This journey ultimately guided her to Milligan University, where she shares in the energy and passion of her students for the occupational therapy profession.
