Joel Wanyoike joined Milligan’s athletics staff as a men’s soccer assistant coach in 2018. A native of Nairobi, Kenya, Wanyoike came to the United States in 2003 to attend Milligan; he graduated from Milligan in 2006.
Wanyoike serves as the goalkeeper coach and oversees the recruiting of goalkeepers as well as the planning and implementation of goalkeeper training.
Prior to returning to Milligan, Wanyoike served as the goalkeeper coach with the East Tennessee State University women’s soccer program from 2014 to 2018. This succeeded a post-graduation stint as an assistant at Milligan. From 2010 to 2013, Wanyoike served as an assistant coach under women’s head coach Lisa Buckley; in 2009 he was an assistant coach for Milligan men’s soccer.
Wanyoike holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems with a minor in management from Milligan. He also holds an NSCAA national diploma & advanced national goalkeeping diploma.
Wanyoike resides in Gray, Tennessee, with his wife, Stacy, and two kids, Zoey and Izaiah.
