Former Elizabethton High School cheerleading coach and Milligan College alumna Ronda Paulson is entering her tenth season as the head coach of the Milligan cheerleading program.

Paulson brings several years of experience to the program, having served as head cheerleading coach at Elizabethton High School from 1998 to 2002. Last year she served as cheerleading sponsor to the Milligan squad.

Paulson’s hiring, along with new scholarship opportunities, are part of Milligan’s expansion of their co-ed cheerleading program.

In 2010, Paulson worked to start up a dance program at Milligan. The team started with success. In their first season of competition, the Buffaloes recieved a diamond score and first place in the pro-am at the 2013 Encore Dance Competition. They finished the 2013 season with two first place finishes and a pair of diamond scores.

In 2014, the dance team won the platinum level award for their performance at the Furman University competition, and multiple dancers took first in their divisions.
