Ryan Mossman enters his third season as an assistant coach at Milligan. Mossman specializes in pitching and recruiting for the program.

Previously, Mossman spent the 2018-2019 season at Division III University of Mary Washington who lost in the CAC conference semi-finals. Under Mossman’s tutelage Hank Biggs set the single season record for wins and innings pitched while also being selected as a CAC second team all conference selection and d3baseball.com’s third team all south region selection. Also, during that time Mary Washington’s 2019 recruiting class ranked 23rd in Division III according to Perfect Game.

During the 2017-2018 season Mossman spent time as the pitching coach for UAA runner-up Emory University in Atlanta. During this time Emory’s Richard Brereton was a first team all UAA pitcher selection as well as a d3baseball.com third team All South Region selection.

Mossman has also spent two seasons in the Valley Baseball League, first as the pitching coach for the Charlottesville TomSox in 2018. With the TomSox, Mossman’s staff broke every pitching record for the Valley Baseball League including: strikeouts, fewest walks, ERA and WHIP. The TomSox fell in the league championship, but had five players selected in the MLB draft in 2019. During the 2019 Valley League Season, Mossman spent time with the Waynesboro Generals who broke the single season wins record and went on to lead the league in multiple pitching categories.

As a student-athlete, Mossman played three seasons for Shenandoah University as a utility player. He helped his team to it’s first ever ODAC championship and two straight regional appearances. Mossman also pitched one season for Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Point University where he aided in the school’s first NAIA postseason appearance. Mossman has a .319 career batting average and a 2.60 ERA in 107 innings and is top 10 in multiple records including single season batting average, ERA, and saves.

Off the field, Mossman has also presented at the Baseball Hall of Fame and in 2018 presented at Boston University on his analytics and sports science research with the Charlottesville TomSox. Mossman graduated from Shenandoah University in 2016 with his BBA in Sports Management and currently resides in Johnson City, TN.
