Gary earned his Bachelor of Arts from Atlanta Christian College, a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel School of Religion, followed by a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Milligan. He is currently working on his Ph.D. dissertation through Canterbury Christ Church University, United Kingdom.
As a practicing occupational therapist since 2001, Gary has specialized in hand therapy, earning his Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential in 2006. He has worked in primarily private and hospital outpatient settings providing specialized hand and upper extremity care as a CHT. Additionally, he has worked in long-term care, school systems, home health, and inpatient rehabilitation settings.
Gary teaches courses addressing custom orthotic fabrication, modalities, kinesiology, occupational therapy leadership and management, psychosocial theory and practice, as well as other topics of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.
Gary and his wife Carrie have two daughters, Anna and Aubrey. They work as part of Grandview Christian Church’s City View campus serving in downtown Johnson City.
