Allen holds a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics and computer science from Northwestern College (1997), a master of arts degree in mathematics from University of Nebraska (2003) and a doctorate degree in applied mathematics from Iowa State University (2009). While at Iowa State, Allen was the teaching assistant coordinator for the math department. His areas of interests and expertise include differential equations, mathematical modeling, and real analysis.
In addition to teaching at Milligan, Allen was involved in organizing a workshop for an Improving Teacher Quality (ITQ) grant.
Allen periodically leads a young adults Bible study at Big Spring Church of Christ. He, and his wife, Alison, have two children.
