Lowell Church is a beautiful church right on the edge between city and country life, and we are a church of 200. Lowell, IN is a suburban context with an avid football community, as well as a thriving homeschool community.

Full-time or part-time: full-time

Compensation: starting pay is $45,000-$50,000

Lowell Church of Christ is seeking a new full-time Youth Minister to oversee the development of ministry for 6-12th grade students, partnering alongside parents in providing spiritual direction and wisdom.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead: The Youth Minister will oversee the ministry for 6-12th grade
    students. They are responsible for finding, recruiting, and training
    volunteers.
  • Team: While the Youth Minister’s primary focus will be on teens, they
    should be committed to the growth of the whole church. This will include
    help with churchwide events, attendance at leadership meetings, and
    occasional other duties assigned by the Senior Minister or Eldership.
  • Family: The youth minister does not do ministry in a silo, but as part of the
    God-ordained plan of raising up children to honor Christ. As such, they
    recognize the primary role of parents, and do everything within a
    framework of empowering and assisting them in their role as the primary
    spiritual leaders of their children.
  • Vision: The Youth Minister sets the direction of the youth ministry in a
    God-honoring way.
  • Shepherd: The youth minister shepherds the spiritual life of students. This
    includes teaching, relationship building, counseling, and other related
    activities. This can include being active in their lives, providing safety in all
    programming, and more.
  • Student: All ministers are also expected to be learners. They should be
    learning about Scripture, cultural trends, educational tools, and more. To
    make disciples, the youth minister must set the example of being a
    disciple.

Work schedule looks like the following:

  • All full-time personnel are expected to work between 40-48 hours per
    week.
  • Every minister has one week-day off, plus working Saturdays on an
    “as-needed” basis.
  • Vacation time is provided according to the LCOC staff PTO plan.
