Vermont UMC is seeking a dynamic, Christ-centered individual to serve as our part-time Director of Children and Youth. This is an exciting opportunity to build young disciples for Jesus Christ by leading ministry that combines worship, learning, service, and joy.

Primary Task:

Love them where they are. Encourage them as they discover who they are in Christ. Provide safe and welcoming spaces where they can be nurtured, challenged, and inspired to serve. (Includes assisting Pastor with Confirmation Class).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver a fun, relatable Children’s Message during Sunday worship
• Lead Children’s Church following the message
• Recruit and engage new children and youth in partnership with the Pastor
• Create and lead meaningful learning and worship opportunities
• Plan, support, and participate in seasonal events like Vacation Bible School
• Foster a culture of inclusion, faith and fun for all ages

Qualifications:

• A committed Christian who embraces the beliefs and doctrines of the United Methodist Church
• Excellent communicator–both in person and online
• Team player who can collaborate with staff, families, and volunteers
• Must provide references and complete Safe Sanctuaries Training
• Previous ministry experience a plus, but a passion for young people is essential
