Website First Christian Church of Livingston, TN
First Christian Church is a mid-sized Disciples of Christ church located in Livingston, TN. The congregation is one of the larger congregations in town, worshiping around 160 people on an average Sunday, and has a long history of women in leadership and service in the community. We are a loving and healthy church family in a friendly and welcoming small town.
We are known as being the church that accepts everyone. We are a Red Cross shelter, we host the only local Boy Scout troop, as well as Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. We host Al Anon and AA. We have a weekly luncheon for Seniors every Wednesday. Many of our communities civic leaders are members of the church and we are very active in our community. Our Senior Minister also organizes the Overton County Minster’s Alliance and chaplains for our local hospital.
We are a bedroom community of Cookeville, home of Tennessee Tech University. There’s a lot of agriculture and manufacturing in our community. We also have an Arts Council that puts on an annual art show and monthly talks about famous artists. We have live music quite often in our city park and at a community event center call Iron and Oak. We are twenty minutes from Cookeville, twenty minutes from Dale Hollow Lake, and twenty minutes from Standing Stone State Park. We’re also an hour and a half from Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga.
