The School of Social Sciences & Education at Milligan University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling in the Master of Science in Counseling program. The candidate must have expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and must possess leadership skills. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2025. Primary responsibilities include teaching in a master’s level, year-round program in counseling that has subspecialties that fulfill the educational requirements for licensed professional counselors, school counselors, and addictions counselors. Candidates with experience doing either practicum and internship placements or program-level evaluation will be prioritized.

Qualifications: Successful candidates must: (1) demonstrate excellence in classroom teaching as well as in advising and supervising graduate students; (2) possess, or be prepared to secure, a Tennessee license as a professional counselor (LPC-MHSP); and (3) be able to provide clinical supervision to graduate students in the program. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited institution, those already licensed as a professional counselor, and those with approved counseling supervisor status.

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to integrate and articulate Christian faith within an academically grounded graduate counseling program residing in a liberal arts institution. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, commitment to the University Mission, and a lifestyle consistent with the University’s goals.
