MILLIGAN, Tenn. (April 4, 2025) – Milligan University senior Kendall Arnold, of Bluff City, Tennessee, will present an art exhibit from April 6-11 in the Milligan Art Gallery located in Derthick Hall. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, April 6, from 2-4 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.

Arnold’s exhibit, “Not Always Black & White,” is based on the common phrase which implies there is not always one clear answer or outcome.

“My current work utilizes a variety of mediums to start a visual conversation about reactions to the world around us,” said Arnold. “My responses to significant moments, enhanced by unconventional techniques, offer unique perspectives on relatable topics. I am especially excited about two large pieces, one seven-foot-long drawing and a seven-foot mixed media piece, in this exhibit.”

Arnold is an art major with a minor in graphic design. She is a transfer student who previously received her associate’s degree in art from Northeast State Community College. Arnold’s works have been on display in various shows and exhibits, including Milligan’s “Two Cats + A Herd of Buffalo” in 2024 and 2025, Milligan’s Juried Art Exhibit in 2024, and the “Murmuration” exhibit during Homecoming in 2024.

For Arnold, Milligan’s arts program has opened her eyes to new ways that her faith and passion can be integrated. Milligan’s emphasis on one-on-one instruction has also allowed Arnold to refine her skills and deepen her understanding of the world of art.
