MACSM’s inaugural graduates

The MACSM program prepares graduates to work in the sport industry, and the curriculum caters to students aspiring to be coaches or involved in various aspects of the sport industry at the professional or collegiate level.

For MACSM graduate Shane Greer, the MACSM program opened the door to an internship at Bristol Motor Speedway, where he learned valuable insights into maximizing the fan experience and generating revenue.

“My favorite aspect of the program has been the small class sizes and close-knit cohort,” he shared. “I appreciated being able to get to know my classmates and professors on a more personal level.”

Dr. Carolyn Carter to receive the Fide et Amore

In addition, Milligan will present its Fide et Amore award to Dr. Carolyn Carter, associate dean of the William B. Greene, Jr. School of Business and Technology. The Fide et Amore, Milligan’s highest acknowledgement of service, honors Carter’s loving and faithful dedication to the university and students.

Carter has passionately served Milligan for 40 years, and during her tenure, she established the university’s computer science program, became the chair of the business area, helped create the computer information systems major, has overseen several accreditation processes and has chaired numerous campus committees. As associate dean, Carter has been instrumental in the development of new programs and initiatives, including Milligan’s engineering program. Known for her spirit of servanthood at Milligan, Carter was selected as the Don and Clarinda Jeanes Chair of Servant Leadership upon its establishment in 2011.
