Milligan’s annual Christmas concert, Dec. 7 and 8

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 18, 2019)—Audiences can experience the glorious sights and sounds of the season at Milligan’s annual Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8. The performances are free and open to the public.

On both nights, Milligan’s area of music will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium located in Seeger Chapel. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

“The annual Christmas concert is a wonderful time for Milligan music students and faculty to give a gift to the community of wonderful music in a beautifully decorated setting,” said Dr. Kellie Brown, chair of Milligan’s music area.

The performances will feature choirs, orchestra, brass choir and the organ, as well as a carol sing-along in the beautifully decorated chapel. Each evening will conclude with a moving candle-lighting and singing of “Silent Night.”

“I love when all of the lights are off and the audience holds up their candles to sing ‘Silent Night,’” reflected Brown. “There is a wonderful spirit throughout the entire concert, and it is a worshipful approach to the start of the Christmas season.”

The concert is free, but donations in support of Milligan’s area of music are encouraged.
