Milligan hosts annual student leadership conference: July 9-15

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (May 1, 2017)—Now in its 15th year, the Youth in Ministry Student Leadership Conference at Milligan College has a stellar line-up of speakers and leaders from around the country to prepare high school students to be servant leaders in their schools, communities and future careers. The conference will be held July 9-15 on the college’s campus.

“God has worked for many years through Youth in Ministry to encourage and equip high school students to be servant leaders now and throughout their lives,” said Kit Dotson, director of church relations and YiM at Milligan. “It is a privilege to see the many ways in which YiM students go on to honor God with their lives, including many that serve in churches as worship ministers, student ministers, children’s ministers and other positions.”

This year’s speakers include Dr. Curtis Booher, associate professor of Christian ministries at Milligan and associate pastor at Crossroads Christian Church, Gray, Tennessee; Laura Buffington, storyteller, Rebel Pilgrim, Cincinnati, Ohio; David Robinson, senior minister, Community Christian Church in Nottingham, Maryland; and Ethan Magness, senior minister, First Christian Church in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Milligan alum Nathan Hall (’14), worship minister at Crossroads Christian Church and soon, Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, Maryland, will lead worship. Other alumni serving as conference leaders include Ryan Arnold (’07) from Nottingham, Maryland; Christian Thompson (’07), Frederick, Maryland; and Chris Wells (’09), also from Frederick.

In addition to YiM, Milligan is offering a number of other summer camps including basketball, computer science, filmmaking, graphic design, musical theatre, nursing, photography and soccer. A $100 discount is available for registration prior to June 1.
