Milligan named among most affordable Christian colleges

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Aug. 7, 2014) — Milligan College ranks 23rd among the top 50 most affordable Christian colleges and universities in the United States, according to Christian Universities Online.

Christian Universities Online is an independent online resource for prospective students and their families researching Christian higher education. This site joins other national rankings, such as U.S. News & World Report and Washington Monthly, which have lauded Milligan for its affordability and value.

“Milligan is more affordable than many people think,” said Dr. Lee Fierbaugh, vice president for enrollment management and marketing. “And the value of a Milligan education is remarkable when you look at the quality of education and student experience we provide.”

The total cost of a Milligan education is $6,500 below the national average for private colleges. Additionally, Milligan students’ average federal loan debt at graduation is $4,000 below the national average of $27,000.

“Milligan offers millions of dollars in renewable scholarships and a variety of financial aid opportunities that make the total cost of a Milligan education attainable and in some cases comparable or less than you’d pay at a public university,” Fierbaugh said.

Milligan’s retention and graduation rates are well above other private colleges and state universities. The success continues after graduation; nearly 100 percent of Milligan graduates are employed or in graduate school within one year of earning their degree.

“Our students receive a top-rate education taught from a Christian perspective in a caring community,” Fierbaugh said. “It’s a great value, and we are pleased that our affordability is highlighted in this ranking of Christian colleges.”

The data used to build this ranking was sourced from the latest data put out by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). To learn more about the ranking, visit www.christianuniversitiesonline.org.
