Milligan event to honor Black History Month


Umoja: The Essence of EbonyMILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Feb. 19, 2013) — Milligan College’s office of diversity services is partnering with Milligan students Alexandria Glaize and Carshala Davis to host an event titled “Umoja: The Essence of Ebony” on Friday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m., in Milligan’s McGlothlin-Street Theatre of the Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts.

Umoja, the Swahili word for “unity,” is a celebration of African-American culture. The event will include singing, dancing, monologues and tributes to iconic figures. It is a celebration in honor of Black History Month.

The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
