Founder of No One Underground to speak at Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Feb. 2, 2012)— The Rev. Eric Samuel Timm, an inspiring painter, author and the founder of No One Underground, will speak at Milligan College on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. in the Mary B. Martin Auditorium of Seeger Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Timm performs for thousands of individuals each year, captivating audiences with a unique communication style and unforgettable art performances. His mission is to paint and perform live messages of truth, hope and love in order to inspire students and adults to create with purpose.

A graduate of North Central University in Minneapolis, Minn., Timm started No One Underground, a program aimed at redeeming the arts within the church through culturally relevant programs and media.

No One Underground also started the nonprofit organization Painting Hope. Painting Hope uses art as a vehicle to provide messages of hope to the communities and individuals it serves. It offers five programs that emphasize community involvement and partnership for the betterment of families, schools, communities, and the world by harnessing the power of art, humor and the human spirit.

The organization provides value-based public school assemblies that capture and challenge students. It also serves as partners within community-based mentorship programs and serves hospice and behavioral health counseling-based centers with inspirational live art performances. The team also labors with local and national organizations for disaster relief efforts.
