World Convention leader to speak at Milligan

Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2010) — Dr. Gary Holloway, executive director of the World Convention, will speak at Milligan College on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

The World Convention builds fellowship and understanding among Christian churches, Churches of Christ and Disciples of Christ congregations throughout the world. Every four years, the World Convention holds a global gathering in a different part of the world. These gatherings focus on meaningful worship, learning, contemporary evangelism and global fellowship. The next global gathering will be held in Goiania, Brazil, during the summer of 2012.

Holloway began working as executive director of the World Convention full time in August 2010 after completing his responsibilities as Ijams Professor of Spirituality at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. He also serves as the minister of Natchez Trace Church of Christ in Nashville. Holloway has been a member of the Stone-Campbell Dialogue since 2003 and is a lifetime member of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society.
