Pelton art exhibit on display at Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (August 22, 2008) — Milligan College will feature the creative works of alumnus Nathan Pelton, Aug. 23 through Sept. 27, at the Milligan College Art Gallery located in the lower level of Derthick Hall. The opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The show, titled “ Learn-Study-Experiment,” will feature a collection of works created and conceptualized during Pelton’s last three years working in Asia. Although mostly abstract, the works are a visual representation of his journey of learning, studying and experimenting with life and culture in Asia.

Pelton, a 2002 graduate of Milligan with a bachelor’s degree in biology, is currently in the U.S. He and his family plan to return to Asia where he works as an educator and trainer and paints and creates in his free time.

The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. For more information about the exhibit, contact Nick Blosser, assistant professor of art at Milligan College, at 423.461.8781.
