Gable to present senior voice recital

Milligan College (April 16, 2008) — Milligan College senior Megan Gable, a mezzo soprano from Lebanon, Ind., will present her senior voice recital on Saturday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Milligan’s Seeger Memorial Chapel. A voice major in general music studies, Gable is a student of John Wakefield, associate professor of music at Milligan.

Gable’s program will feature the soprano aria of the J.S. Bach “Coffee Cantata,” a group of German Lied composed by Alma Mahler, a set of lullabies, as well as the famed “Habanera (Carmen)” of Georges Bizet. She will be accompanied by Milligan music professor and harpsichordist Dr. David Runner for a portion of the program.” Joel Buckner of Johnson City will serve as accompanist for the remainder of the program.

Gable has performed with the Milligan College Concert Choir for four years. She also has been active in theatrical productions on campus, performing in numerous plays and musicals.
