Retired Milligan professor dies: GENE PRICE


ERWIN, TN — Professor Eugene Patton Price, age 85, of 636 Love Street, Erwin, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, in the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.

Professor Eugene Price retired from Milligan College in May 1994 after 45 years of service. Dr. Price taught Economics, Money and Banking, Accounting, Corporate Finance and many other subjects at Milligan. He also directed the Placement Office and acted as the Chair for the Area of Professional Learning Department of Economics and Business Administration.

Dr. Price began teaching at Milligan College in 1949. While serving in this long tenure at Milligan, he worked on a variety of faculty and academic committees. He served as the Commencement Marshal with Professor Duard Walker since the inception of the position in 1952.

Milligan College honored Dr. Price many times over the years for his service and dedication. He received the Fide et Amore Distinguished Service Citation and was awarded the Faculty Appreciation Award by the Student Body in 1990.
