Res Life Week at Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE , TN (Oct. 20, 2005) — The fun of Wonderful Wednesday isn’t limited to the month of April at Milligan College . The college’s first annual Res Life Week is being celebrated Oct. 17-21, with featured activities each evening.

Each of the college’s six residence halls is hosting an activity, from a luau and hula-hoop tournament at Hart Hall Monday evening to Webb Hall’s croquet, Frisbee golf, and card tournament on Tuesday. Last night, Kegley, Quillen and Williams Halls united efforts to host a game night, featuring a different game – from UNO to board games and cards – in each suite.

“We want to celebrate and highlight the role of residence life within the Milligan experience,” said Kim Parker, director of student life. “More than 80 percent of our undergraduate students live on-campus and it’s a huge part of the college experience.”

Tonight, Sutton Hall will host a Star Search, featuring talent acts from every residence hall and judged by faculty representatives.

Res Life Week will culminate Friday evening with The Ultimate Hall Party. The evening will feature a cookout, live band, Battle of the Halls Ultimate Frisbee Tournament, and a pool party at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

Parker explained that the week’s activities have been planned by the Residence Life staff, hall councils, and resident assistants.

“It’s been a great week, lots of fun, and it’s helped to strengthen the unity and loyalty to the residence halls,” said Parker.
