New leadership approach for Enrollment Management

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (May 5, 2005) — President Don Jeanes announced a new leadership approach today in the college’s admissions area. David Mee, vice president for enrollment management since 2001, has accepted a position with a national educational consulting firm and will be moving into an advisory role for Milligan beginning July 1. Tracy Brinn has been promoted to director of enrollment management and will oversee the college’s daily admissions functions.

As a senior consultant with Performa, a firm based in Burlington, N.C., Mee will remain part of the Milligan team, making regular visits to campus, providing broad direction and counsel to the college’s enrollment leaders, and advising the President’s Cabinet.

“I’m committed to Milligan’s growth and development and I look forward to helping maintain the momentum the college is currently experiencing. I’m thrilled that this professional opportunity will allow me to still be involved with the college,” said Mee, who was previously director of admission at Samford University and Houghton College . He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals (NACCAP).

In addition to continuing her role overseeing undergraduate admissions, Brinn will serve as team leader for all enrollment areas, including graduate admissions, adult degree completion, and Student Success. Since August of 2002, she has served as director of undergraduate admissions and previously was assistant registrar and director of testing. She is a 1994 Milligan graduate and holds a master’s degree from East Tennessee State University.

Milligan has seen steady enrollment growth in recent years, reaching a near all-time enrollment high in Fall 2004 and a record spring enrollment in 2005. Jeanes said enrollment growth is a combination of a growing freshman class and record high student retention.

“Milligan has worked very hard at not only attracting and enrolling students, but delivering a quality education, helping them continue to afford that education, and ensuring that they graduate not only with a diploma but with an experience and knowledge-base that will serve them for life,” said Jeanes.

“This transition allows us to maintain familiar leadership and ensure the quality and services that we are committed to in enrollment management at Milligan College,”  said Jeanes.
