MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (November 12, 2003) — Twenty-three Milligan College photography students have been on assignment since late summer at Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport documenting the park’s natural beauty. These students’ best work will be on display at the park’s nature center through the end of the year.

“This is our second year documenting Bays Mountain during the summer and autumn,” said Alice Anthony, assistant professor of the practice of art at Milligan. “We plan to expand our documentary next year to include each season.”

Milligan College’s Bays Mountain Exhibition features over 30 black and white and color photographs that reflect the park’s animal life and beautiful landscape.

“I see this as a project that should continue for years to come; it provides a focus for the students’ talents and at the same time gives park visitors an interesting perspective on the beauty and diversity of nature found at Bays Mountain,” said Mike Chesman, head of the exhibits department at Bays Mountain.

Milligan offers a fine arts major with a photography emphasis and a photography minor. Students may also take elective courses in basic and intermediate photography.
