Scholarship walk/run announced

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (September 16, 2003) – The Associated Ladies for Milligan (ALM) will host the first annual scholarship 5K run and 2.5K walk on Saturday, Oct. 25, as part of Milligan Homecoming festivities. Sponsored by State of Franklin Savings Bank and Saratoga Technologies, all proceeds from the event will go toward student scholarships at Milligan.

Participants will depart from Steve Lacy Fieldhouse at 9:00 a.m., enjoy fall’s deciduous splendor as they journey through Milligan’s campus, and complete their trek back at the Fieldhouse.

Awards will be given for the top three finishers overall, male and female, as well as top finishers in the following age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.

The cost for the walk/run registration is $20 or $15 for those who register prior to October 17.

“The purpose of ALM is to raise scholarship money for students, as well as be an important part of ministry in the community,” said Milligan’s first-lady and founder of ALM, Clarinda Jeanes. “This is a fun and fairly simple way to help students.”
