Milligan College welcomes new staff member


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 8, 2002) – Kevin Harkey hasbeen named assistant to the president at Milligan College.

For the past 11 years, Harkey has served as headmaster and then president of Landmark Christian School in Fairburn, Ga., where school enrollment more than tripled under his leadership. At Milligan, Harkey will work serve as a representative of the college, building and maintaining relationships with alumni and friends of the college.

Harkey is 1973 graduate of Milligan College and holds a master’s in English education from Vanderbilt University and completed further graduate studies at Georgia State University.

Harkey worked for nine years as a minister and teacher in Tennessee and Georgia. He also served for seven years as chaplain of Woodward Academy in College Park, Ga., where he taught Bible and supervised the school’s drug education and prevention program.

He is a member of Rotary, the Christian Stewardship Association, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools evaluation teams.

Harkey is one of four siblings who all graduated from Milligan. He and his wife, Carolyn, also a Milligan alumnus, have two children, one of which is currently a freshman at Milligan.
