Milligan College Hosts Fall Open House

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN-The Milligan College Office of Admissions will host an open house on Friday, Nov. 16. The open house offers prospective students an opportunity to experience the academic and social aspects of the campus.

According to Cory Paulson, admissions director, Milligan’s open house is open to the general public but is geared primarily toward high school seniors who will attend college in the fall of 2001.

“Our open houses give prospective students a window into the Milligan experience,” said Paulson. “Students and their parents have the opportunity to hear our faculty in the classroom and visit with our students.”

During the open house, several on-campus activities are planned for prospective students. Some activities include visiting a class, dining in the cafeteria, talking to faculty at an academic fair and attending a coffeehouse performance by campus bands.

The academic fair gives visiting seniors and their families the chance to sit down and talk with professors individually.

Freshmen Michael Ottinger enjoyed experiencing the college lifestyle at last year’s open house.

“I enjoyed the tour and sitting in on a class. I had the opportunity to learn more about the professors I would have in class,” said Ottinger.

“Milligan wants to show prospective students our caring environment and give these students and their families the opportunity to ask questions,” said Paulson. “We want to stress how much the Milligan community cares about prospective students and their families.”
