The Milligan men’s soccer team lost 1-0 in their Monday night match against No. 8 University of Mobile.

“The game certainly could have gone either way,” Senior Captain Kyle Wilcox said.  “We missed close range a couple of times and they capitalized on their opportunity. We defended well but did not play a solid 90 minutes, which needs to be done against a team ranked eighth in the nation.”

The Buffs bounced back from the Mobile loss and defeated the Bulldogs of Union College on Wednesday with a score of 4-0 in a conference match. Senior Josh Stevens scored two goals in the game off assists from sophomore Philip Wilson.  Also scoring for the Buffs were senior Kofi Frimpong and sophomore Tyler Ross.

This improves the men’s current record to 8-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the AAC. The Buffs travel to Bryan College to take on the Lions for another conference match tomorrow at 7 p.m. If the Buffs beat Bryan tomorrow they will secure home field advantage in the first round of the conference playoffs which will be held the last weekend of October in Chattanooga.
