This Saturday six bands are being given the opportunity to earn the opening slots for the Sept. 18 Skillet and Jars of Clay concert at Freedom Hall. They are receiving this privilege through Fusion Fest, a concert that is split into two segments: a battle of the bands and a performance from the Lads Band. The concert is taking place in Cumberland Square Park in Bristol, Va.
The battle of the bands includes the following groups:
The Sean Michael Currier Band
Different Kind of Ordinary
Josiah Potter and the Review
Sparrow Fall
Luke Stanley
Crimson Truth
The battle of the bands will last from 5 to 7 p.m. This will be followed by a performance from the Lads Band, a contemporary Christian group that has had four consecutive hits in the U.S. Top 10 Christian Rock charts.
A variety of musical genres will be represented at this showcase of local musical talent. Admission is free and the concert will last from 5 to 9 p.m. For more information, go to www.fusion-net.org.
