Freshman Dagmar Yr Arnardottir led the Lady Buffs on Saturday in the women’s soccer game against Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Ky., scoring all of Milligan’s goals in a 3-1 victory.
Milligan faced a few moments of anxiety early in the game when the Lady Patriots scored their only goal in the fourth minute. The Lady Buffs’ defense stepped up its game, allowing only three shots on goal.
In the 20th minute, Arnardottir tied the game. The Lady Buffs pulled away with the lead as Arnardottir scored her second and third goals in the 49th and 84th minutes.
The win improves Milligan’s record to 4-4-1 for the season and 2-1-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The Lady Buffs travel to Banner Elk, N.C. on Wednesday to battle against Lees-McRae College.
