Aaaah, halloween.

In a few days, Spiderman, Superman and Fanny Crosby just might be knocking at your door.

Most girls dress up as princesses, fairies or witches. Not me. When I was a child, I dressed up as Fanny Crosby. For those of you who haven’t brushed up on your hymnology lately, Crosby wrote “Blessed Assurance,” along with over 8,000 other hymns. She was blind, so my costume consisted of a floppy skirt, lacy shirt, sunglasses and a cane. No one could guess who I was supposed to look like. Amazingly enough, this surprised me.

I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 crazy costumes which Milligan students would actually admit they once wore.

10. This honor goes to Kelly Sharp, who once dressed as Mary, the mother of Jesus. She would like the public to know that she is very embarrassed about this costume.

9. Moving on, the ninth spot goes to Carrie Mayes for her night of Halloween fun spent as a sack of potatoes. Mayes said she actually sewed potato sacks together to come up with this one.

8. Dawn Loughry didn’t have to buy a wig for this costume - she dressed as Princess Leia.

7. Andy McNeely and Don Wallingford are tied for number seven for their girl costumes. The only difference is that McNeely actually made it out of the house, while Wallingford’s father wouldn’t let him.

6. Leah Seevers dressed up as Wilma Flintstone. It may be funny, but at least she was actually a girl to begin with!

5. Can anyone say sunshine and sand? Alyssa Bibler belonged there with her beach ball costume.

4. Troy Childress dressed up as a cow. Moo.

3. Ask Adrienne Sutphin if she still has the fangs from her Werewolf costume sometime. And by the way, she says she looked GOOD.

2. You don’t have to Graceland to get a glimpse of the King – just ask Aaron Gray for pictures of his Elvis costume!

1. Numero uno goes to Sharayah Cochran, who once dressed up as a bunch of grapes. Tasty!

Special mentions should go to Jan Mitchell’s brother, who dressed as the Bible, and to Missie Mills, who is rumored to have a pencil costume planned for Halloween 2004. Write on!
