Alpine Ski Center, located at 2916 Bristol Highway in Johnson City, opened its doors on Wednesday night exclusively to Milligan students, faculty and staff “to help college students out,” said Alpine’s store general manager, Mike Thomas. “We have a lot of (Milligan) kids who shop here.”

This was the first time Alpine offered a sale exclusively to the Milligan community. According to Thomas, 60 students went to the sale, and Alpine made 41 transactions.

Many students went to the sale to buy discounted clothing and to socialize.

Freshman Dagmar Arnardottir said she came because, “I’ve been freezing lately.”

“I love to ski a lot,” said freshman Peter Harris. “It’s a great sale and should happen more than once a year, closer to ski season.”

“I’m glad Alpine supports Milligan,” said sophomore Lauren LaBounty. “It brought Milligan students out.”

Hills said senior Brad Parker spent an hour in the store and came just to socialize.

Thomas plans on having a sale in the future exclusively for the Milligan community.
