Reporter BJ Appel interviewed women's tennis coach Marvin Glover about the upcoming season.

Q: How do you think the team will compare from last year?
A: (We have) better depth and overall talent. The entire squad returns, notably Cassie Lomison who was runner up at number one singles in the AAC and champion at number one doubles with her sister Cheri Lomison. Newcomers this season are freshmen Amber Campbell and Krissi Denton and senior Lindsey Bowie.

Q: What matches are you looking forward to?
A: March 1 vs. Virginia Intermont starts off the conference season against the defending champions. They are the team to beat. Other matches we are pointing to are Tennessee Wesleyan and UVA Wise.

Q: Who do you expect to have a breakout season?
A: Cheri Lomison seems poised to improve on her singles results from last season and Amy Vincent has been playing well this spring.

The team’s first home match is against Virginia Intermont on March 1 at Liberty Bell in Johnson City.
