The Master of Business Administration program at Milligan hosted an open house on Oct. 30 to help preview the graduate program.

According to Bill Greer, chair of the area of business, the MBA program will begin in the spring of 2004. There are currently 23 students enrolled for the first session.

Greer said the MBA program will be a vital part of the business area at Milligan.

“We will benefit from the contributions of faculty being added to support the program,” Greer said. “Second, the library resources dedicated to business will be increased.”

The program will benefit the rest of the college as well.

“An MBA generally raises the profile and reputation of an institution, making our students even more attractive to potential employers,” Greer said. “The addition of an MBA at Milligan will make us a more visible presence in the business community.”

Students in the program will be focus on ethics and faith in the workplace. The program will provide the functional knowledge in business, accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing and strategy, and will also continue Milligan’s vision to produce Christian leaders.

“We believe it is important for business leaders to be grounded in ethics,” said Greer said, “Then they can recognize that decisions should be based upon a foundation of character and integrity.”
