On Feb.
25, Marc Imboden and his group “Year’s Wages” made an impromptu appearance
in the cafeteria in a coffeehouse-style concert.
Imboden, a Milligan student in the 1980s, is the co-writer of the popular praise
song “You are Holy,” which he wrote with Tammi Rhoton in 1994. He called
Milligan to request an audience after leaving the nearby Gatlinburg Collegiate
Conference the previous weekend where they led praise and worship for the event.
“I had to call like 20 people, and they just put me through to more people,”
Imboden said.
He was granted a stage in the form of the McCormick Dining Hall, where students
enjoyed his music while they ate dinner, and many students stayed around
afterward as well.
The group is based out of Indianapolis, and consists of Marc Imboden, Lori Lemme,
Amy Imboden, Bryan Russell and his wife, in addition to floating bass players.
They have been touring around the country, and will go to Georgia and South
Carolina before having a break.
“We have been to every state except for possibly Nebraska,” said Imboden,
“and we'll be touring a lot of the Western states this spring.”
Year’s Wages is in the process of becoming a non-profit organization in order
to be a more missionary-based group in regards to funding. Their second CD will
be released in approximately one month.
