Survey Critique
(Worth 50 points)
OBJECTIVES:
- Become familiar with the survey questions and format.
- Obtain an estimate of the time necessary to give/take the survey.
- Critique of survey; examine for errors and question wording.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Pair up with someone in the class and take turns giving and taking the survey. Role-play
the interview and record the time that it took for each of you to give the entire survey.
When it is your turn to answer the questions you should role-play the kind of responses
you think an interviewer is likely to hear.
- After giving and taking the survey you and your partner should go through the survey
question by question and make notes on any comments, questions, and/or corrections you
have about any of the survey items. You should have notes on at least some, but probably
not all of the items.
- Type up a summary of your notes and the times you recorded. You may abbreviate your
comments, such as "#12: spelling of Veteran". I don't want comments on
the survey itself because you need to keep your copy.
- Come prepared on January 31st to share your comments and questions.
