New Student PO Box Online Rental Instructions

 

Milligan College has a US Post Office at the entrance of campus. To receive mail on-campus, you must rent a PO Box (rental must be done online; not on-site). Cost is $30/year plus $6 key deposit. Mail is not delivered to residence halls. All mail sent through the US Postal Service should be addressed to: Student's Name, PO Box #, Milligan College, TN 37682.

How do I sign up for a USPS online account?

1. Go to https://www.usps.com/manage/get-a-po-box.htm

2. Click on "Find a PO Box" in middle of page

3. Under "Find a PO Box Location Near You," enter 37682 for the zip code and hit Search

4. Under "Milligan College Post Office", select Size 1 for 12 months and hit Continue

5. If you don't already have a USPS online account, click "Sign Up Now"

6. Complete the account sign-up form

7. Complete the PO Boxes Online application

8. Enter your credit or debit card, review fees and application details, and the hit Submit.

9. Print the Online PO Box Application (PS Form 1093). Take it with two forms of ID to the Milligan College Post Office to pick up your keys and PO Box number.  Printed Online Box Application must be brought to the Post Office or box cannot be issued.

 

What types of identification are required to provide verification to the Post Office?

In order to pick up your PO Box keys (or combination number) and box number (reserved and paid for online), you must present two items of valid identification to the Post Office; one item must contain a photograph. Social Security cards or credit cards and birth certificates are unacceptable as identification. The following are acceptable identification:

The identification presented must be current. It must contain sufficient information to confirm that the applicant is who he or she claims to be and must be traceable to the bearer.

 

When will I receive my PO Box number and mailing address?

After you have provided your completed online PO Box Application (PS Form 1093) and have presented the two forms of ID, and the Post Office employee has verified the IDs, keys or the combination number to your PO Box will be provided to you.  Note:  you must visit the Post Office during business hours to provide your id, to get your keys, and box number.
