Welcome to Milligan!
Traditional students and parents who have not attended the April or June CONNECTIONS will convene at 4 p.m. Parents will attend Letting Them Grow in Wilson Lecture Hall, Hardin Hall; students will attend Out on Your Own in Derthick Lecture Hall, room 202.
The first official Welcome meeting of the new academic year will convene in the auditorium of Seeger Chapel at 6:30 p.m.
Following the Welcome meeting, all parents and new students will meet at 8 p.m. in the Chapel for the Matriculation Service. This will be followed by a dessert reception on the Mary Sword Commons — where they can meet faculty members, administrators, staff members, and students orienting the newly-arrived families. |

| Sunday, August 17 |
A worship service will be held in Seeger Chapel at 10 a.m. for new students and their families. Parents should plan to leave the campus for home or vacation after having lunch at midday. A time for testing and auditions begins at 2. For those who are not auditioning or taking tests, the afternoon provides a time of activities, relaxation and getting acquainted – films, games, and opportunities will be provided and directed by peer mentors. Students should consult materials provided in the admissions/advising process to determine what if any tests need to be taken. If a student is uncertain about the tests, the mentor or adviser assigned can explain what the student should do. Contact faculty in the applicable academic areas if questions about individual tests arise. Times and locations of the tests are shown in the schedule. At 6 p.m., Introduction to Life at Milligan in Hyder Auditorium in the Science Building will provide vital information for success.
At 7 p.m., all new students will meet with their teams and assemble for the New Student Banquet. This banquet is a relaxing time spent with one's team members enjoying a meal and conversations followed by a light program. Vespers will follow the banquet. |
