Family Weekend 2012
Family Weekend is an opportunity for parents and siblings to see what college life is like, as well as to tour and explore the Tri-Cities area. On-campus events are planned throughout the weekend, but families are encouraged to do some sightseeing in the local area, as well. Family Weekend is February 10-12. (Click here for more info)

Student Development

Student Development at Milligan College seeks to promote faith, learning and living through Campus Ministry, Career Development, Campus Activities and Residence Life.

For students wishing to deepen their faith, participating in Campus Ministry programs at Milligan College will help you to both explore contemporary avenues and to refresh traditional practices of Christian worship, spirituality, and understanding of scripture.

Students interested in Career Development and learning about God's purpose for their lives will want to visit the Institute for Servant Leadership and inquire about the Servant-Leader Experience. Through the Servant-Leader Experience, we seek to nurture the hearts and minds of a new generation of servant-leaders for the church and society. We seek to help our students discover their central purpose and passion in God's call to change lives and shape culture through faith, service and leadership.

Finally, students desiring to enjoy the richness of living in community will want to take advantage of Campus Activities and Residence Life programming. Through programs and events in the residence halls and other campus activities, we hope to enable students to possess excellence in character, healthy lifestyles, leadership skills and lasting friendships.

What's New in Student Life?

Sub 7 Renovation Project
Coming this Summer, our Sub 7 campus space where students enjoy various concert venues and events, will be undergoing a renovation to update the space’s flooring, lighting, furniture, art, and overall appearance. Sub 7 is a space that is very central to campus life and we are excited for the changes and improvements to this important area!

Campus Life Sneak Peek!

The 2011-12 academic year is just around the corner. Have you thought about what you will be doing when you are not studying?

Besides getting to know your roommate, making new friends, seeing old ones, and going to Applebee's for half-price appetizers, you will want to take part in the campus activities planned by students for students. Several organizations on campus offer you opportunities for spiritual growth, service, athletic competition, and fun and fellowship as you get to know other Milligan students.

Campus Activities Board (CAB) is the first place to start for filling your social calendar and finding fun ways to hang out on campus and around Johnson City. CAB starts the year off right with the annual Welcome Back Week, August 20-26, where we celebrate the last days of summer by playing at water parks, heading out to Fun Expedition, seeing who wins The Game, and laying back at the local Drive-In. Always the center of the action, CAB hosts numerous campus activities and social events throughout the year. There is something for everyone from film events, dances, concerts and coffeehouses, to beach trips and the day that feels like Christmas morning in April known as Wonderful Wednesday! This year in particular you can be on the lookout for a TWIRP Week full of awesome activities, ski trips to North Carolina, the Air Band competition, and our infamous water tag game called GOTCHA! And don’t forget that WE NEED YOU to be involved so come find us on Rush Day and sign up to work with one of our committees!

SGA is a group of hard working students dedicated to improving campus life.  We are excited about the upcoming school year.  Event planning is underway and we hope that you will get involved.  You can expect events such as Rush Day, Homecoming Dance and parade, Family Weekend. On the other hand, SGA is not only about planning school functions.  We are an organization that represents the student body.  Whether it be academics, school programs, or spiritual formation, our team is there to support student opinion.  SGA will host the LEGACY PROJECT in order to connect students with administration in order to raise student's voices. Get ready for a year filled with spirit and excitement.

Campus Life is brimming with activities and events to attend, people to meet, conversations to have, lessons to learn, and new experiences to brave. It's going to be YOUR college experience and it will only be what you make of it.

So put yourself out there, try new things, and get involved! This is where college really happens. Bring it on!
