MY STORY
Why I transferred to
Milligan.
I spent my first three semesters at a state
school in Nashville but I wanted to come back home to East Tennessee. The
softball coach at Milligan started talking to me about coming to play here.
Milligan is a better fit for me. I love the closeness you have with the
professors and how accessible everyone on campus is. People care whether or
not I want to go to law school someday. I'm the fourth generation of my
family to attend Milligan and we're proud of that heritage.
Law school.
My grandfather was a judge and I've always
been interested in going to law school. The more I get into my classes, the
more I enjoy the business aspect of things. Right now I'm in Business Law
and I really like the case studies and getting into the thick of it. It's
very hands-on learning.
My moment.
I came to Milligan my sophomore year and the timing was perfect. Milligan's
softball team got to play against the U.S. Olympic Softball team that
spring. It was one of the coldest days that year but I sweat the entire
game. I was so completely consumed with the game that I didn't even notice
how cold it was or that there were thousands of people there. We already
knew it was the last Olympic softball team, so it was even more special. I
also took lessons from Monica Abbott when I was in high school. Playing
against that team was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. No matter what the
outcome was, we were glad and blessed to have the experience. I got to pitch
the fourth inning and held them scoreless that inning. That's rare. As an
athlete, you hope you have that moment where you know you totally play up to
your potential. That was my moment and one I'll someday tell my kids and
grandkids about.

World"?
