Career goal.
I'd like to
be a conservation biologist or environmental scientist. Ultimately, I would
like to travel to post-war zone countries and work on restoring the
ecosystem there and do missions work at the same time. I would also like to
run a Christian youth camp that teaches about the environment. I also love
playing the violin, hiking, kayaking, photography, and traveling.
Why I chose Milligan.
I'm a
biology major. I liked the small size of the science department. I wanted to
have the close student-professor interaction that Milligan offered. Also, I
wanted a Christian school that taught modern concepts in the science field,
while keeping Christ at the center of all.
The best part about being at Milligan.
The best
part, by far, is the community at Milligan. Not only do your suitemates know
your name, but so do your hallmates, dormmates, classmates, professors,
faculty members, and even administrative staff.
What makes Milligan different.
Milligan's
community is like no other. You can tell that Christ lives in the hearts of
the people here. People genuinely care about who you are and where you are
going in life. It is like a big extended family.
Milligan is
a wonderful place to learn about your subject area, learn about yourself,
and learn about God. It is a place where you can be yourself all of the time
and not worry about what people think. It is a great place to explore your
passions and what means most in your life.
The future.
Milligan is
definitely preparing me for the future. Compared to most of my friends at
larger universities, I feel that I am getting a well-rounded education. I am
able to apply what I learn in Humanities to concepts I learn in my Biology
classes.
