Raise Your World

Refining and strengthening.

Milligan is different from other schools because of the heavy investment the institution makes in its students. The faculty and staff take time to get to know you as a person. Also, it is very evident that Milligan believes that its students can’t use their education and training without a proper perspective, and that’s where Milligan’s Christian views come into play. However, Milligan doesn’t just teach its students the basics of Christianity. It forces us to confront challenging questions about their faith as a means of refining their beliefs and strengthening them.

A community.

I chose Milligan because of its size and strong sense of community. I went to a small high school and had already been accustomed to a small environment. Milligan has helped me grow educationally as well as spiritually.

For the rest of my life.

Milligan has forced me to look outside of myself to the needs of the world around me. One of the major themes at Milligan is servant-leadership and learning how to serve rather than being served. Through various community service activities on campus such as volunteering with and mentoring young children at an after-school program, I have learned the gratitude that comes by putting others before me. This is something I will take with me wherever I go, for the rest of my life.
