Lamar students give book presentations at Milligan College

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (April 16, 2004) — Second graders from Lamar Elementary School will give presentations on books they read as part of Milligan College's Book Buddies program. Presentations will be held in the Hardin Lecture Hall on April 20 at 1:30 p.m.

Since February, students from Milligan College's Children's Literature Class have been encouraging elementary students to read books as part of the Book Buddies program and helping them to prepare their book presentations.

The Lamar students will also learn about college life. They will spend the afternoon eating lunch in the cafeteria and touring the campus.

“Our class at Milligan is excited that we have helped develop the love of reading and learning in the Lamar students,” said Lyn Howell, professor of education at Milligan College.
