Milligan College to hold “Spiritual Renewal Week”

MILLIGAN COLLEGE , TN (Feb. 16, 2006) -- Milligan College will hold its annual “Spiritual Renewal Week” Feb. 19-23, with special guest Micah Weedman, a Milligan graduate and Johnson City native. The nightly services include praise, worship and lessons on the theme, “Discipleship and Christian Unity.”

Weedman recently served as resident-in-ministry at the Office of Ecumenical and Interfaith Programs at the University of Indianapolis , where he studied the theological reflection of vocation.

While there, he authored the booklet, “The Discipleship of Togetherness: Essays in Christian Unity.” The booklet has been used widely for study purposes at the University of Indianapolis , as well as distributed to all colleges and universities involved in The Theological Exploration of Vocation program funded by the Lilly Endowment.

Weedman completed a bachelor of arts degree in business administration and economics with a minor in English from Milligan College in 1998. He graduated in 2002 from Emmanuel School of Religion with a master of divinity degree.

All spiritual renewal week services are open to the public and will be held on the Milligan College campus. Service times are: Sunday, Feb. 19, at 9 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. in Walker Auditorium of Seeger Chapel; Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 9 p.m. at Hopwood Christian Church; and Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in SUB7 of McMahan Student Center. The week will conclude on Thursday, Feb. 23, during the 11:00 a.m. chapel service in Seeger Chapel, as Weedman speaks on “The Peace of Christ.”
