MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (January 21, 2005) — Jill Smith has joined the Milligan College master of occupational therapy program (M.S.O.T) as assistant professor of occupational therapy.

Smith holds a bachelors degree in psychology from Central Michigan University and a master's in occupational therapy from Western Michigan University.

Smith has served in private practice for several years. She previously served as staff occupational therapist at the Greene Valley Developmental Center in Greeneville, Tenn. She also held positions as a counselor, social worker and case manager in Michigan.  Smith provides trainings and workshops on creativity and creative thinking. She taught at Milligan last semester as an adjunct professor in the occupational therapy department.

“I thoroughly enjoyed teaching at Milligan College in the fall and had a great time working with both the staff and the students in occupational therapy.  I was very pleased to be offered the full-time position. The people at Milligan have been welcoming and friendly, and I look forward to learning more about the campus and meeting more of the staff and students,” said Smith.

The M.S.O.T. program is one of only two M.S.O.T programs in Tennessee . It prepares therapists to help people with injuries or illnesses to relearn basic living skills. The program is designed for people with undergraduate degrees in a variety of academic fields.
