For a list of performers in each recital Click here.

MAJORS: 4 of 5 student recitals (11:00 a.m. on specified Tuesdays);
6 of 8 evening events from the Fall 2008 Evening Recital Schedule

MINORS: 4 of 5 student recitals (11:00 a.m. on specified Tuesdays);
4 of 8 evening events from the Fall 2008 Evening Recital Schedule

Failure to meet all recital attendance requirements will result in a drop of half a letter grade (5 points) in every music class average for the semester.

CONCERT ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT CONFLICT POLICY

Students may count one approved off-campus concert towards completion of the concert attendance requirement each semester. The student presents proof of attendance at this recital, in the form of a printed program or ticket stub.

"From time to time, music majors and minors are prohibited from satisfying the evening concert attendance requirement because of involvement in college sports teams, college classes, or college work-study. In such cases, students are required to satisfy the full requirement by attending previously approved off-campus concerts, and by submitting proof of attendance (printed program or ticket stub). In extreme cases, students may be allowed to satisfy the requirement by viewing a video, or listening to a recorded musical performance prescribed by a music faculty member. The student will submit to the chair a written review of the music heard."

Why do music majors and minors have recital requirements?

Milligan College encourages music students to immerse themselves in music by attending concerts and recitals which will expose them to repertoire and performance techniques.
